Probably because we are close to the end of financial year and as per my calculations, I think there might be just about 1000 grants left which will be spread across till mid June. We might have just weekly grants. Again, just my guess. Some S56 here and there might be possible because those are likely to be granted only next FY from July.

there was 7000+ remaining on 31 mar, so there should atleast be 2000+ remaining today. unless they plan to go big in June, May shoudnt be this quite.

What's the point of speculating this close to the new fiscal when quotas renew? If your application is in, you will get your visa sooner or later. If you're hoping to get your visa in May or June, re-set your expectations for July - August and be pleasantly surprised if it comes earlier.

yup I was thinking of the same. @gregormendel why is DHA not using the quota? I see many more 190 grants each month even though there are fewer quota remaining. Its very sad that DHA would waste away the allocation and force us to wait for 2 years when allocation is not an issue..........

They will use quota by 30 June, there is no slow or grant, just plan to use it by end of FY. @zippyfox1148 formulation is correct.

FY2024-25 Planning Level Usage Learn more about planning levels → Regional planning level is 33000 places of which ~85% (guesstimate) can be estimated to be available for 491 regional visa = 28050 places (primary + secondary). As at 31 Mar 2025, 20945 (74.7%) out of 28050 places have been consumed by visa grants, with 7105 remaining places until the end of FY.

So with this in mind and the pace at which 491 grants are coming through it doesn't seem likely they will use the quota down to the last 1%. There weren't those many 491 grants in Apr or May until now. The most grants happened in July Aug last year and there is a monthly downward trend since then. So unless there is a great flood of grants after today there is a greater probability of quota going wasted away........ :(

they wont waste quota, they never do. They will push out grants till late June.

and that 85% guestimate cud be as low as 80%

Indeed, very quiet day. Grants have already started slowing down as we're approaching end of FY.
