21 may 2025 - 190 visa grant. 14 May 2025- Received assessment commencement email. 4April 2025 - Update overseas police clearance. 4April 2025- Update new home address. 20March 2025 - Notification of change circumstances resign from previous job. 20January 2025- Update Afp. 17March 2025- Upload new passport details. 8 December 2022 - My partner and I both received invitations for the subclass 189 visa on 8 December 2022 β€” myself as an **External Auditor**, and my partner as a **General Accountant**. We were overjoyed and in shock, as we knew how rare it is to receive an invitation in these occupations. However, just a few hours later, I discovered that although I had a skills assessment, it wasn’t suitable for migration purposes. To be eligible, I needed at least 7 in each band of IELTS (or equivalent)to receive a full skills assessment for migration. Our hearts sank. Despite both of us receiving invitations β€” something so rare β€” we couldn’t proceed with the application due to this one critical mistake. It was devastating. We cried uncontrollably. As an accountant and auditor, getting an invitation is already very difficult, and we felt we had lost a golden opportunity due to a technical detail we were unaware of. We didn't give up. We immediately booked the PTE exam, studied hard, and both of us achieved 8 in each band, meeting the requirement. We then reapplied for both the 189 and 190 visas β€” but all through 2023, we received no invitations, even though we were sitting at high points. A few 189 rounds occurred, but they were limited to priority occupations only. We waited and hoped, but it was a long, silent year. We also kept hoping for a 190 NSW invitation, but that too never came in 2023. The whole year was incredibly mentally exhausting. On top of that, my partner worked under a toxic employer on a 482 visa β€” expected to work late every day, including weekends, without any work-life balance. It was an emotionally draining time. But finally, on 9 February 2024, after more than a year of disappointment, we received our NSW 190 invitation. It felt like a new beginning. We lodged our application the same month. It has been a long journey since we came to Australia in 2018, completed our Master of Professional Accounting in 2020, and secured jobs even before graduating. But behind all these achievements is a story of struggle, heartbreak, patience, and resilience.
