I wanted to say a special thank you to Gregor Mendel . While I was panicking about staying in the country, your answers to my questions eased a lot of anxiety. Thank you to everyone in the group who contributed and helped answer questions.

For those looking to become ECTs, I wouldn't recommend it if you are doing it solely for PR purposes. I was very nearly made to leave even though I had finished more than a year before my Visa ended. I know the recent round shows that there is a good chance to be invited but remember that the new government is anti-immigration, and that could change very quickly. It is also extremely competitive, with everyone now riding the wave. I got very lucky, and I would be surprised if others were invited on similar points as me again this FY or even next. Then again, I'm not an agent and am just speaking on what I have seen and been through.
