FY Planning Levels On 14 May 2024, the Australian...
@gregormendel (1W ago| Updated 1W ago)FY Planning Levels On 14 May 2024, the Australian Government announced that the planning levels for the 2024–25 permanent Migration Program (Migration Program) will be set at 185,000 places.
Lets hope they announce upcoming FY's planning around the same time this year.
@gregormendel Appreciate the time and information you put into this. It's certainly very helpful. Given the election and potential change in government before the next financial year (with the Liberals currently stating they wish to cut permanent migration for a few years), what are your thoughts about how this might impact processing times for applications? I currently have a non-priority occupation 189 onshore application submitted 25/11/24. I'm slightly concerned at the moment that the 189 might reach the planning level for the 24/25 financial year before my application is processed, with this then being at the whims of a change of government in the new financial year. I can imagine there will be more information on this with the FOI information from January 2025, but any early thoughts insights would be very welcome.
@gregormendel We should also keep in mind that it's Federal Election year also, I think there would be some delays this time around.
Hope for the best 🤞
I think its best to wait for Jan FOI, which comes in about 10 days, and then can comment more precisely.
Overall, I think your grant (25 Nov lodgement) is very likely to arrive in this FY.
On Elections etc, I will do a post in coming weeks, bit too early to comment more on this.
@gregormendel That's very comforting to hear about the application, certainly gives me a little more peace of mind during the wait. It's good to know the rough due date for the Jan FOI too, be interested to see how processing has been going.
Sounds good as well, look forward to reading it.
Thanks very much for getting back to me as well - appreciate it.
No worries, good luck :)
