NSW Subclass 190 VISA GRANTED – ICT Business Analyst | 90+5 points (Unemployed at the time of VISA grant) 📌 My timeline: August 2025: EOI submitted (85+5 points). February 2026: EOI points updated to 90+5. 04 March 2026: NSW pre-invitation received. 04 March 2026: NSW nomination application submitted. 07 April 2026: NSW nomination approved. 11 April 2026: Subclass 190 visa lodged. Within one week: Medicals completed. 13 April 2026: Bridging Visa granted. 26 October 2026: Subclass 190 GRANTED! 🎉🇦🇺 No s56 request and no Form 80 requested.

EOI & ACS EXPERIENCE My ACS skills assessment was already in place when I submitted my EOI in August 2025. However, ACS had deducted the first two years of my employment experience when determining my deemed skilled date. I initially assumed I could not claim those two years towards my skilled employment points. Consequently, my initial EOI had 85+5 points, with zero points for overseas skilled employment. In February 2026, my migration consultant advised that NSW would also consider experience deducted by ACS, provided: Your bachelor's degree has an ICT major. Your employment is closely related to your nominated ANZSCO occupation. Even if the experience was at a junior level, the actual duties were relevant to the nominated occupation. Following this advice, I claimed an additional 5 points for the experience ACS had deducted in its assessment, taking my EOI from 85+5 to 90+5 points. This was the important change that made my EOI competitive for the subsequent NSW invitation round.
NSW INVITATION Occupation: ICT Business Analyst (261111). Invitation: Onshore, 04 March 2026. Points: 90+5. In the NSW nomination application portal, I noticed there was no option to select zero years of overseas skilled employment. My understanding was that the relevant invitation round was targeting applicants with overseas skilled employment experience.
POINTS & QUALIFICATIONS Primary applicant: Age: 30 points. Overseas skilled employment: 5 points (3+ years). Australian skilled employment in regional NSW: 5 points (1+ year), in the same nominated ANZSCO occupation. Superior English (PTE). NAATI CCL. Overseas bachelor's degree (ICT major), assessed by ACS. Partner: Proficient English (IELTS). Positive ACS skills assessment. Total EOI score: 90+5 points. No Australian degree or Australian study qualification whatsoever.
VISA CIRCUMSTANCES At the time I received the NSW pre-invitation, I was on a bridging visa associated with my pending Subclass 500 student visa application. I lodged my Subclass 190 application on 11 April 2026 and immediately withdrew my pending student visa application. My Bridging Visa was subsequently granted on 13 April 2026.
FINAL OUTCOME

Permanent residency granted on 26 October 2026! 🇦🇺🎉
