When I get an invitation and the EOI is expiring soon, can I call DTWD and ask them to prioritise my nomination application? Do they consider? Has anybody been through this situation? Please guide. Thanks in Advance.

Hi everyone, Iโ€™m looking for some guidance regarding a new EOI for WA State Nomination (subclass 190).

My previous WA nomination was refused because I did not have 12 months of work experience at the time of application.

Work experience timeline:

Overseas experience โ€“ accepted by VETASSESS for Skills Assessment. ( 9 months of experience and no point calculated or no experience counted for eligibility for nomination.)

Amcal Pharmacy (Australia) โ€“ Pharmacy Assistant (Title differs on payslips and contracts, but the JD is similar in the reference letter and contract.)

5 months included in my VETASSESS skills assessment

WA did not consider an additional 4 months of work completed later because they were not included in the Skills Assessment.

During the nomination process, I was advised that only work experience supported by the skills assessment is considered for the WA nomination.

Current role in WA โ€“ Pharmacy Technician

Will soon complete 12 months full-time

My question is:

Should I get a new skills assessment based only on my current WA Pharmacy Technician role and then lodge a new EOI?

Or can I use my existing positive skills assessment and claim only the new 12 months of WA experience, even though the skills assessment includes earlier roles with a different job title?

Any advice from people familiar with WA nomination would be really appreciated. Thank you ๐Ÿ™

What happened to 491 last program year?

It had a 33000 planning level, yet only granted a bit less than 24000 in total?

Why did they waste so many 491 grant slots when there were already quite huge backlogs there, even though not as horrible as 190 backlogs?

Were there too many 191 backlogs so they wanted to reduce 491 grants to mitigate the works three years later? Or some other reasons?

By the way, do we know how many 191 backlogs are there?

Hi everyone, Iโ€™m currently studying an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management and doing my Job Ready Program as a Chef part time in WA. My student visa is expiring in March, and Iโ€™m a bit confused about the next step. Should I continue my studies and apply for a student visa extension (based on a Bachelorโ€™s COE), or should I apply for TR 485 instead? Also, what are the current chances of receiving an invitation as a Chef under skilled migration pathways?
