Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
The majority of S56 requests on 28 October 2025 involved medical-related documentation. Remedicals were the most common request, particularly for applications lodged in early 2024, indicating expiry of initial medical examinations after 12 months. Several cases involved documentation for family composition changes, including newborns and children reaching age milestones requiring additional medical assessments. Police clearance certificates (PCC and AFP) were also requested, particularly for applications lodged in September 2024. Some applicants proactively updated their AFP and PCC documents, which appeared to facilitate direct grants without S56 requests. The pattern suggests that applications approaching or exceeding 12 months from lodgement are likely to receive remedical requests.

Hey Guys @biotechy @gregormendel can you tell me what you think based on the data you are studying on the 190 grants pattern. Seems to me 2023 after July is being skipped while mid 2024 are being issued. I am consufed now having lodgement date Dec 23 and being cleared with remedicals in late Sept I was hoping to be granted within days like most seemed to be here. When I use the data from here it seems my case it out of standard for that data. Do you see that pattern differently as you work on bigger data sets? Trying to make sense of my situation. Thanks.
