Hi everyone, seeking clarification and insights from applicants under ANZSCO 234111 – Agricultural Consultant, especially those applying for subclass 491.

I have been speaking with a few migration consultants in India to understand the current trend for 234111, but I am getting completely different information from different people, and nothing seems consistent.

One consultant says that states are generally not nominating 234111 easily under 491. Another consultant told me that since 2022 there has been almost no movement or invitations for 234111 under subclass 491.

However, while going through this website and timelines, I noticed one applicant with the following NSW 491 timeline:

• 03 Dec 2023 – Submitted 491 NSW visa application • 07 Oct 2025 – Received s56 Request for Further Information • 12 Dec 2025 – 491 NSW Visa Granted

This made me wonder whether 491 invitations are actually happening for 234111 these days, but only in limited numbers, or whether most movement is happening only through 189/190 pathways.

My current base score is 70 points (before state nomination points), and I am trying to understand realistically how competitive this occupation is for 491 in the current scenario.

Would really appreciate inputs from:

• recent invitees,
• people with lodged ROIs/EOIs,
• applicants waiting in the pool,
• or anyone tracking 234111 trends.

Are 491 invitations for 234111 actually happening? Which states are showing movement, if any? Do applicants with lower base scores still have reasonable chances through 491?
