I was playing with past Daily Activity Report data and saw that DHA switches back and forth between granting past backlog and doing current backlog for 190. They spend 10-12 days granting 2023 and then back to granting 2024.
Given they granted up until Oct 7th 2024 on 30th Oct 2025 - will Immigration switch back to processing Subclass 190 grants for Oct/Nov 2024 lodgments by next week?

This is tricky, and I have to say I do not know. However, I can be sure that if you are applying for 190 this program year, the speed would be much faster than two years ago.
The macro trend depends on basically only two things, visa grant quota and visa nomination quota within the same program year. With the visa grant quota far exceeding the visa nomination quota (even if we include the secondary applicants), the speed will become faster in general.

All good, I did account for this as well. Since DHA is using current FY allocation numbers to grant the 'oversupply of invites' they sent out during and after covid, it creates a backlog at the end of each FY.
Assuming they want to keep the 50% processing time consistent - I'd imagine they need to come back to Oct 2024 soon.
