📙 Daily Activity Report: 11 August 2026

This report summarises visa grants and invitation activity for Australian Skilled Migration visas (Subclass 189, 190, and 491) based on crowdsourced data from the community.

Visa Grants

Subclass State Location Occupation Lodge → Grant Date S56 Date Detail
190 QLD Onshore Civil Engineer 11 Jun → 11 Aug 2026 UNKNOWN
190 QLD Onshore Registered Nurse 27 May → 11 Aug 2026 UNKNOWN
190 VIC Onshore Analyst Programmer 11 Jun → 11 Aug 2026 UNKNOWN
190 VIC Onshore Quantity Surveyor 15 Jun → 11 Aug 2026 20 Jun Medicals

S56 Trends

No S56 requests were reported for 11 August 2026.

Invitation Activity

No invitation round data was reported for this period.

Trends and Patterns

Visa Processing Times

All grants reported today were for Subclass 190 visas, with processing times ranging from approximately 2 months to 2.5 months from visa lodgement to grant. Three of the four grants were direct grants (no S56 requests), while one applicant received an S56 request for medicals shortly after lodgement.

The Registered Nurse grant (priority occupation) was processed in approximately 2.5 months, while non-priority occupations (Civil Engineer, Analyst Programmer, Quantity Surveyor) were processed in approximately 2 months. This suggests relatively consistent processing times across both priority and non-priority occupations during this period.

State Activity

Queensland and Victoria were the active states for grants today. Queensland granted visas to a Registered Nurse (65+5 points) and a Civil Engineer (100 points), while Victoria granted visas to an Analyst Programmer (85 points) and a Quantity Surveyor.

Points and Pathways

The Civil Engineer case demonstrates the complexity of skilled migration pathways. Despite holding 100 points for Subclass 189 since July 2025 (later 105 points), the applicant did not receive a 189 invitation due to lack of Civil Engineer invitations in August 2025 and November 2025 rounds. The applicant successfully pivoted to the 190 pathway through Queensland nomination.

The Analyst Programmer was granted with 85 points, while the Registered Nurse held 65+5 points. This highlights the varying points requirements across different occupations and states.

Family Composition

One grant involved a family of four (Registered Nurse case), demonstrating that family size does not appear to significantly impact processing times when all documentation is in order.

DoHA has updated the 189 visa website in which they have published the submission dates of recent applications allocated for processing. Does this mean applications are being processed in parallel now and offshore grants will begin? Haven't seen any offshore grants in recent times. Or will we need to wait for all applications in bullet points 1-3 before bullet point 4 commences?

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-independent-189

The text reads (unable to add screenshot): "Applications for the Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visa (Points-tested stream) are prioritised in accordance with Ministerial Direction No. 119.

Applications currently being allocated for processing were generally lodged in:

As received – related to Australian law enforcement or defence interests June 2026 for construction, healthcare and teaching occupations (onshore applicants) January 2026 – all other applications where the applicant was in Australia at the time of application November 2025 – all other applications where the applicant was outside Australia at the time of application."
