Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
The majority of S56 requests issued in September and October 2025 resulted in visa grants on 14 November 2025. Common S56 requests included:
- Medical-related: Remedicals, health examinations, and polio vaccinations were the most frequent requests across all subclasses
- Document verification: Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) and employment evidence were commonly requested
- Administrative: Form 80 and passport updates were also requested in several cases
Non-priority occupations showed processing times ranging from 15 to 29 months, with most applications lodged in July-December 2023 receiving grants in November 2025.
The pattern suggests that applications lodged in mid-to-late 2023 are currently being processed, with S56 requests typically issued 1-2 months before grant decisions. Most S56 requests were issued in September 2025, indicating a processing wave for this cohort.
Family applications (ranging from 2-4 members) did not show significantly different processing times compared to single applicants, though the ACT 190 single applicant with 95 points experienced a longer processing time of 29 months despite having high points.
