Visa Grantedโ
Hi all, I applied for the subclass 189 visa (Graduate Stream) in January 2025 for the November 2024 invitation. Since returning home, Iโve sent small amounts (AUD 200โ500 each) to a friendโs Australian bank, who then transfers it to me via an international remittance service for my personal expenses as my temporary graduate visa was till last October. This has been happening multiple times over the past year. I am also paying ATO my tax in monthly installment plan including ZIP as well. Has anyone done something similar and had Immigration question it, or is this generally fine?

Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
Priority Occupations: Registered Nurse nec (priority occupation) received a grant in under 5 months. This demonstrates the expedited processing for priority occupations under Ministerial Direction 105.
Non-Priority Occupations: Processing times for non-priority occupations varied significantly. Several 491 NSW offshore applicants who lodged in July 2023 received grants after approximately 28 months. More recent lodgements from February 2024 were processed in approximately 19 months. The 189 direct grants from late December 2024 were processed in under 11 months.
S56 Request Patterns: Remedicals were the most common S56 request, appearing in multiple cases. Several applicants received remedical requests in September and October 2025, with grants following within 1-2 months. One notable case involved a second remedical request specifically for TB screening for a child who had aged past the initial deferral threshold. Additional S56 requests included AFP checks, employment evidence, F80 forms, and updated passports for newborns.
Direct Grants: Three 189 visa grants were direct grants with no S56 requests, all processed within 11 months of lodgement. These included Software and Application Programmer nec and Civil Engineer occupations.
Family Considerations: Multiple grants involved families of 3-4 members. One applicant noted their child turned 2 after completing visa medicals but did not receive an additional S56 request for age-related medical requirements.
