Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
Priority occupations (Registered Nurses and Early Childhood Teachers) demonstrated expedited processing with grants issued within 2-3 months of lodgement. The NT 190 ECT grant was particularly swift at 7 days from lodgement to grant with no S56 requests.
Non-priority occupations experienced longer processing times. The NSW 491 Software Engineer case took 24 months with three separate S56 requests (PCC, remedicals, and Form 815 health undertaking). The QLD 190 Fitter and Turner case took approximately 11.5 months. Proactive engagement with DHA and submission of supporting documents (employment contracts, financial evidence, school documentation) appeared beneficial in one case.
S56 requests predominantly involved medical examinations (remedicals), police clearance certificates, partner functional English requirements, and VAC payments. Multiple S56 requests were common for non-priority occupations, with medical clearances taking 1-4 weeks to process after submission.
Family size ranged from single applicants to families of 4, with no apparent correlation to processing times. Both onshore and offshore applicants received grants, though priority occupations showed faster processing regardless of location.

"Last Friday i called DHA and informed my situation and they asked me to add supporting documents.. and just now i got my grant. Thank you every one for supporting. I told them that i pro actively updated PCC, wife and daughter passport and financial issues if i get late grant, supporting documents i added in IMMI acc like company latest contract , baby school fee and donation details which taken from school, house contract letter.
DHA will note down each point we speak to them and we have to submit evidence for that. This was my last option and i tried. "

@biotechy Does this shows that DOHA has shifted attention to 2025 non priority applications because I have seen few 2025 grants lately. Maybe they're trying to show reduced processing times?
