Visa Granted
I came to Australia in 2016 to pursue my Master’s degree in IT. After completing my studies, I applied for a 485 Temporary Graduate visa in 2018 and worked hard to achieve 8 each in PTE but faced challenges during that time. I had 80 points for migration then, but the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and my 485 visa expired. In 2020, I applied for a student visa again and studied for one year in Victoria (VIC). I realized moving to a regional area could improve my chances but made that decision late. I moved to Canberra (ACT) in 2022, expecting to get an invitation within a year as the required points were low at that time. I applied for a student visa extension, which was granted. Unfortunately, in 2023-2024, ACT reduced the number of seats and the required points increased significantly. Earlier, during my 485 visa, I had completed a Certificate III in Pathology Collection on a friend’s recommendation. After moving to ACT, I managed to find a job in that field. In 2024, I applied for another student visa, which was rejected. I then applied for an ART (Administrative Review Tribunal). Meanwhile, I was working towards completing two years of full-time work experience to be eligible for a skills assessment. When I reached that milestone, I contacted several migration agents, but most of them told me I was not eligible because they believed my four years of part-time work would not equate to two years of full-time experience. I was almost ready to give up, but I decided to directly contact the assessment authority who clarified that they calculate based on pro-rata (part-time hours are counted proportionally). I then used ChatGPT to research and confirm my eligibility, which gave me the confidence to proceed. I took the risk, applied for the skills assessment, and successfully received a positive outcome. This revived my hope. I then submitted my Canberra Matrix and after waiting 3 months and 26 days, I finally received my 491 visa grant. Never lose hope. The process is hard, but if you keep trying, your time will come. Believe in yourself, keep praying, do charity, and always have one-on-one conversations with God through your prayers.
