Hi everyone,

I have recently got pre-invite under the Subclass 190 visa and have been responding to a series of information requests from my case officer regarding my residency in Australia from May 2019 to June 2024.

Here’s the situation so far:

  • I couldn’t provide a lease agreement because I was living with my sister and brother-in-law.

  • My case officer then asked for bank statements, so I submitted them from September 2019 onward, when I opened my account after getting my first job.

  • She asked which account I used for earlier domestic transactions, and I explained that I used my sister and brother-in-law’s joint account, and I highlighted the relevant transactions made on my behalf.

  • Later, she asked for my airline ticket from when I arrived in Australia on a Visitor Visa in 2019. Since the ticket had a return flight, she questioned when I returned to Australia. I explained that I never leftβ€”I cancelled the return ticket after lodging my Student Visa, and I remained lawfully in Australia on a Bridging Visa.

  • I also explained that I was allowed to attend university while on the bridging visa and provided emails from my education agent and university confirming this.

Documents I’ve provided so far include:

  • Proof of university enrolment

  • Visitor Visa grant notice

  • Bridging Visa grant notice

  • Student Visa document

  • Old passport pages showing arrival/departure stamps (which confirm I never left)

  • Bank statements from September 2019

  • Details of the joint account used earlier

I’d really appreciate any advice on whether I should provide more documents or clarify anything further with the case officer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I submitted my EOI for the 190 and 189 visa categories last year in August, with 70 and 75 points respectively as a Social Worker. Then, on the 2nd of April, I updated my EOI after receiving my English and NAATI points. My points are now 90 for 190 and 85 for 189.

I’m just wondering if I should keep these EOIs as they are or withdraw them and submit new ones, as I’ve heard that new EOIs might receive priority. Is this correct? It would be great if you could answer this. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I have several questions, please bear with me.

I’ve already submitted my EOI. However, my 485 visa is expiring in June. If I need to return to my home country after the visa expires, do I need to update my address to my home country, or does it not matter if I move from onshore to offshore?

Additionally, I have 80 points for the 190 and 75 points for the 189 as a Social Worker. Do you think this is sufficient? I could increase my points but have been struggling to get 79 in each componentβ€”I always miss out on one.

Should I also try 491 pathway 2?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
