Lately, it feels like there are more people stuck waiting after s56 requests than those actually getting grants or new invites. Wouldn’t be surprised if some recently invited applicants get their grants before many of us who’ve been waiting since our s56 stage. 😅 2 years and 3 months already.

Hi, I need some help about a question in my 491 visa application.
The visa form asked: “Has the applicant been employed overseas in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation at a skilled level, immediately before invitation to lodge this application?”
I selected “No” because I thought “overseas” means working in another country. But I was actually working in Pakistan (my home country) at that time in my nominated occupation Human Resource Manager (132311).
I have already added all my job details and experience letters in the application.
Now I’m confused, does “overseas” mean outside Australia, which includes Pakistan?
If yes, then maybe I should have selected “Yes.”
My questions are: 1.Did I make a mistake by selecting “No”? 2.Should I update or upload a clarification, or just wait for the case officer? 3.Can this cause any problem with my visa?

Hi everyone, I need some expert opinions regarding my EOI and visa application consistency. In my EOI for subclass 491, I selected “Yes” to “Does the client’s partner have a nominated occupation?” and chose Telecommunications Engineer – 263311 as my partner’s nominated occupation. I selected “No” for “Does the partner have a suitable skills assessment?” My wife actually has a BE in Electronics Engineering (specialization in Telecommunications), but she has never worked in that field. She is currently working as a teacher, which I mentioned truthfully in the visa application. I did not claim any partner skill or work experience points. Will this inconsistency between EOI (Telecom Engineer as nominated occupation) and the visa application (current teaching experience) cause any issue or concern with Home Affairs?
