Is it necessary to submit the medicals immediately after lodging the visa, or can we submit them after six months as advised by our agent?

depends on how big the backlog is for your visa. In our case, it was 7 months when we lodged and went on to 18 months. Medicals expired 2 months back so we will have to do them again if they ask.

The longer you wait in medical assessment, the longer the visa to process to next stage, resulting a delay visa grant.
