Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program Update 25 March 2025 Subclass 491 Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) pathway currently closed The subclass 491 Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) pathway has closed to new registrations of interest (ROIs) and applications for nomination.

The pathway will be closed for the remainder of the 2024-25 program year due to extended visa processing times for visa applications made outside Australia and an increasing number of false claims.

Pending a review of the pathway, no further applications for nomination will be accepted.

Invitations to apply for nomination that have been issued but not yet accepted (application lodged) have been withdrawn.

Further information about the pathway will be issued at the commencement of the 2025-26 program year.

The subclass 190 Overseas Application (Health Sector Job Offer) pathway remains open to new ROIs and applications.

Overseas skilled workers seeking to work in Tasmania, and Tasmanian businesses wanting to employ them, may want to consider alternative visa pathways. These include employer-sponsored visas.

Processing times and remaining nomination quota are updated every week on the Migration Tasmania website here β†’
