Has anyone been granted 189 PR with a late lodgement history + ATO payment plan? Does late lodgement (2023 & 2024 filed late) put my application at risk? Or is being compliant now (lodged everything + payment plan) enough? Immigration has asked for monthly payment evidence from September till November payments to ATO.
Received s56 on November 20 for November 2024 invitation for Civil Engineering Draftsperson occupation.
no problems
Hereβs my situation and Iβm hoping if you experienced can tell me if this could affect my 189 PR application:
I didnβt lodge my 2023 tax return until December 2024
I didnβt lodge my 2024 tax return until September 2025
Because of these delays, my PAYG Instalment Activity Statements from 2023β2025 built up debt + GIC (interest)
So before I set up a payment plan, there was already an accumulated overdue debt
I entered an ATO payment plan in mid-September 2025, and Iβve been fully compliant since then (even paid some instalments early)
My Question: Does having overdue ATO debt from previous years (before starting the payment plan) count as βnon-complianceβ in a way that could affect a Subclass 189 visa? Or does Immigration only care that Iβm now lodged, compliant, and in an active payment plan?
I am $200 ahead for the other 2 payments.
