s56 Request: Hi everyone, I just received an S56 request for my Subclass 189 after 10 months and 18 days. Immigration asked me for:
1.Evidence of ATO payments (Iβm on a payment plan for $2,252)
- New police clearances
Does getting these types of S56 requests usually indicate Iβm close to a grant? Or is it just standard procedure?
What are the chances of getting the visa granted after providing these documents?
Invitation: 7 November, 2024 Lodgement: 2 January, 2025 S56 : 20 November, 2025 Occupation: Civil Engineering Draftsperson (Graduate Steam)
ATO payment plan issue + S56 request confusion β will this affect my visa? Hey everyone, I need some advice. I accidentally paid my ATO instalments into my income tax account instead of using BPAY for my payment plan account. Because of this, the payment plan statement shows October as overdue, even though the money appears in the income tax account.
My concern: Will immigration accept the income-tax-account payment evidence, or will the βoverdueβ in the payment plan statement cause a problem?
I got S56 after 10 months and 18 days, and they also asked for a new police clearance.
Anyone been through something similar? Will this affect the S56 outcome?
Hi all, I applied for the subclass 189 visa (Graduate Stream) in January 2025 for the November 2024 invitation. Since returning home, Iβve sent small amounts (AUD 200β500 each) to a friendβs Australian bank, who then transfers it to me via an international remittance service for my personal expenses as my temporary graduate visa was till last October. This has been happening multiple times over the past year. I am also paying ATO my tax in monthly installment plan including ZIP as well. Has anyone done something similar and had Immigration question it, or is this generally fine?
I submitted 1023 From by correcting tax debt in From 80 which I have have but agent gave me wrong advice. Now I am in payment plans for 24 months where I pay each month. I did the correction after 8 months of applying my 189 in Civil Engineer Draftsperson in graduate stream. I submitted payment plans evidence from ATO. Can this affect my grant and why is it taking so long time for 189 grant? Thanks.
@gregormendel: I have recently paid 2022/23 tax early this year. I have tax to be paid total for combined 2023/24 like 4150 AUD. My tax agent told me I have statements and if immigration asks me about it he told me to tell them to contact him, he told me tick 'No' in From 80. My temporary graduate visa expired last October and I returned to my country I got a 189 invitation in my country. Will I be given an opportunity to explain this by immigration or is it either direct grant or refusal? Tax agent told me not to lodge as I am not in Australia and working, also I do not have much money to pay taxes.
Hi there, can someone not get a 189 grant if they have some ATO debt in ABN that is more than 3000 AUD but less than 5000 AUD, the tax agent adviced not to pay now and only pay after returning to Australia? So the recipient ticked 'No' in Form 80 on the tax debt question owing to Commonwealth.
