Hi all hope you are well
Previously I was advised I was a likely definite for 190 invite for the following profile: โPrimary school teacher Offshore 25 points age 15 points education 15 points offshore work exp 20 points superior eng 10 points skilled partner (elec engineer skills assessment and superior eng) Total 85+5 points state nom = 90 Also 85 points ACT matrixโ
Thank you for your confidence beforeโฆbut is this now unlikely to happen? I see TAS will now no longer invite offshore candidates for example. Last year for ACT I would have been picked for every round they drew for offshore primary teacher, which was 5/6 rounds. For SA I also see they were inviting primary teacher offshore on lower points as long as they had high work experience. VIC and NSW seemed tough I fear that states will now ditch the offshore applicantsโฆand that seems to be reality as per TAS
Appreciate any feedback

Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
Only one S56 request was documented today for a NSW 190 Motor Mechanic application. The request was issued on 03 July 2026 for work experience documentation, superannuation records, AFP check, and PCC. The applicant submitted all requested documents on 15 July 2026, with the visa granted on 06 August 2026.

Processing Time Observations
Priority Occupations (Health): Three grants were reported for priority health occupations (Registered Nurse NEC, Registered Nurse Medical, and Pharmacy Technician). These applications demonstrated significantly faster processing times ranging from approximately 1.5 to 2.5 months from lodgement to grant, consistent with expedited processing under Ministerial Direction 105.
Non-Priority Occupations: The Motor Mechanic application (NSW 190) took approximately 16 months from lodgement to grant, including an S56 request. The Geotechnical Engineer application (VIC 190) processed in approximately 2 months with no reported S56.
The Motor Mechanic grant is particularly noteworthy, representing the culmination of an 8-year migration journey with 95 points including NAATI, Australian work experience, and Australian qualifications.
