I am confused which state to go with the intention of PR. My long term career goal is Environmental Engineer. My partner will pursue IT and a designated career. Need to choose a territory good for both of us with long term goal.

If your intention is to get PR, the state doesn’t really matter at the moment. Anyone with a trade qualification has a much better chance of getting PR from almost any state. The best option right now is to come to Australia, study a trade course, and get a skills assessment that’s currently the most reliable pathway to PR. People with higher degrees are not getting PR as easily anymore.
