The Canadian government has different programs for immigrating to the country with each criterion. All the applicants must meet the criteria before applying and get closer to getting the application approved.

There are more than 80 different immigration programs the Canadian government runs to let people migrate to Canada.

1. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The Provincial Nominee Program offers livelihood for applicants in specific provinces or territories. It is for individuals who want to live in a specific province or territory (except Quebec). The applicants or individuals applying for this program must have the necessary skills to contribute to the countryโ€™s economy.

The qualified applicants can apply to the Provincial Nominee Program under one of the following streams:

  • Students
  • Business Personnel
  • Skilled Workers
  • Semi-skilled Workers

2. Atlantic Immigration Program

An applicant needs a work permit after completion of studies to apply to this program. This Visa program allows employers from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, and Prince Edward Island to attract -qualified candidates to the Atlantic provinces.

Candidates can apply under one of three streams:

  • Atlantic High-Skilled Program
  • Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program
  • Atlantic International Graduate Program

Each candidate or applicant requires specific work experience, education, and language requirements, as well as a job offer from an employer in an Atlantic province.

3. Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a visa to live and work in a rural territory or community in Canada. The applicant needs to receive a job offer from an employer in one of the following rural communities to be eligible for this visa, along with other eligibilities and requirements.

The rural northern communities are:

  • Claresholm, Alberta
  • Vernon, British Columbia
  • West Kootenay, British Columbia
  • Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
  • Brandon, Manitoba
  • North Bay, Ontario
  • Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
  • Sudbury, Ontario
  • Thunder Bay, Ontario
  • Timmins, Ontario
  • Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

4. Permanent Residence for Caregivers

Caregivers are in high demand in most provinces across Canada. If the applicant is a caregiver with an open work permit in Canada, the applicant can apply for a permanent residency in one of the following pilot programs.

  • Home Child Care Provider Pilot
  • Home Support Worker Pilot

Suppose the applicant does not meet the work, other requirements, or eligibility criteria. In that case, they can still work in Canada with a temporary visa with a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

5. Quebec Experience Program

The province of Quebec has its unique set of rules and requirements for Immigration, which differs from the rest of Canada.

If you are an applicant who completed a full-time study in any educational institution recognized by the province of Quebec or if you have acquired a diploma in the last 36 months, you can apply for the Quebec Experience Program.

The first step to permanent residency through the Quebec Experience Program is to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate, known in French as a certificat de sรฉlection du Quรฉbec (CSQ). This document is issued by Quebecโ€™s Ministรจre de lโ€™immigration, de la diversitรฉ et de lโ€™inclusion (MIDI).
