Hi, I assessed my qualifications through Engineers Australia, I hold bachelor degree in Electrical engineering specialized in Telecommunication and Electronics. for the last 8 years I've worked as Electrical engineer not telecommunications, recently I worked as railway signaling engineer. I received feedback from EA assessor informing me that my qualification doesn't match requirements for Electrical and he can assess me as railway signaling engineers. My inquiry is that i found electrical engineer has ANZESCO code 233311 , also Railway signaling engineer is specialization with the same ANZESCO code 233311, So when submitting EOI i will apply as Electrical Engineer or railway signaling engineer ?? because I think that the chances for railway signaling engineer is limited , Please help.

βœ… Clarifying the ANZSCO Code and Occupation: Yes, both "Electrical Engineer" and "Railway Signaling Engineer" fall under the same ANZSCO code: 233311. However: β€’ "Railway Signaling Engineer" is considered a specialization within the broader category of Electrical Engineer. β€’ The occupation title you nominate in your EOI should match EA’s assessment outcome to avoid rejection or issues during skill select or visa processing. 🟨 What the EA Feedback Means: Since EA assessed you specifically as a "Railway Signaling Engineer", even though it shares the same code (233311), your occupation title for the EOI must match their assessment β€” i.e., "Railway Signaling Engineer", not just "Electrical Engineer". Even if your degree is in Electrical Engineering, EA has ruled that your work experience and skills better match the signaling specialization. Therefore: 🎯 You must choose β€œRailway Signaling Engineer” as the occupation in your EOI, under ANZSCO 233311. Concern About Limited Opportunities: You're right β€” general Electrical Engineer roles may appear broader or more in demand. However, in practice: 1. Invitations for both general and specialized roles under 233311 are treated similarly in SkillSelect since the ANZSCO code is the same. 2. Some states or employers may specifically list "Electrical Engineer" but Railway Signaling Engineers often qualify as long as the code matches. 3. If you're seeking state nomination, some states may list the exact specialization. You can check occupation lists for states like NSW, VIC, QLD, etc., for Railway Signaling Engineer or Electrical Engineer 233311. βœ… What You Can Do Now: 1. Use 233311 Railway Signaling Engineer in your EOI. 2. Check each state's occupation list to ensure you're targeting states where this specialization is accepted. 3. Optionally, gain more general electrical work or pursue further certification to strengthen a future case for reassessment if you aim to be evaluated as a general Electrical Engineer later.__________πŸ’‘ Tip: If you apply under Skilled Independent (subclass 189) or Skilled Nominated (190) visa, what matters most is: β€’ EA assessment outcome β€’ ANZSCO code β€’ State/territory demand for that occupation
