S56 Trends
No new S56 requests were reported for 08 April 2026.
Trends and Patterns in S56 Requests
Priority Occupations: The Enrolled Nurse (priority occupation) received a grant in approximately 10 months, significantly faster than non-priority occupations. The Physiotherapist (also priority) received a grant in approximately 10 months.
Non-Priority Occupations: Processing times for non-priority occupations varied considerably, ranging from 4 months to over 2 years. Applications lodged in late 2023 and early 2024 are now receiving grants. The longest processing time observed was for a WA 190 Hotel Manager (approximately 28 months), which involved multiple S56 requests related to pregnancy and newborn documentation.
Common S56 Requests: The most frequent S56 requests were for: - Medical examinations and remedicals - Employment evidence (payslips, reference letters, contracts, tax documents) - Police clearance certificates - Newborn-related documentation (birth certificates, passports, medicals)
Offshore vs Onshore: Both offshore and onshore applicants received grants, with no clear pattern indicating faster processing for either category. Processing times appear more dependent on occupation priority and completeness of initial documentation.
Family Applications: Several grants involved families with children, often requiring additional S56 requests for newborn documentation or child medicals.
State Variations: Grants were distributed across multiple states (VIC, SA, WA, QLD, TAS, NSW), with Victoria showing the highest activity on this day.

@gregormendel I have noticed everytime I come closer to my timeline for visa grants suddenly timeline goes up. As previously it was 10 months 22 days for retail pharmacist occupation and my waiting time as of today is 9 months 11 days. Now i can see today’s grants is within one year or 11 months and some days. Which is very frustrating being an offshore without any job. Waiting time is going up everytime. I have no clue now when can i expect my grant as i can see on Immi account my status is still received and haven’t received any s56 or any other request. Proactively submitted my all Pcc and medical and other supporting documents. I am so disappointed with this time frame. Could you guide or provide me any idea when can i get my grant?
