I have received a 190 nomination from Tasmania (called "Provisional Approval" in email), telling me once state and territory allocations are released, they will confirm my nomination with the Department of Home Affairs. However, is it possible for my nomination to be affected by the new policies or points test system? I feel unlikely, but still want to ask. @gregormendel @biotechy

Hi everyone,
I know this question has probably been asked many times before (sorry for being basic!), but I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
What are the chances of receiving a 189 invitation as a Secondary School Teacher with 70 points?
I’ve booked both my CCL and PTE tests for the 6th and 7th of August. I’m quite nervous but working hard to clear both. I actually gave the PTE earlier this month and scored an 83 overall, but just missed the speaking requirement with a 78—just 1 point short!
I’m a bit worried about the new PTE speaking changes starting from 7th August, but since my English is pretty good, I’m staying positive and not letting it stress me out too much.
Would love to hear from others in a similar boat or anyone with insights into the current 189 trends for teachers.
