Grattan Institute Reformed Points System

Proposed points system by Grattan Institute.

DHA will consider input from many stakeholders before coming to a conclusion about a new reformed points system, expected to be launched either sometime in FY2024-25 or at the beginning of FY2025-26 (or a potentially later date). No information is available from DHA on exact implementation timelines yet.

Grattan Institute is one of those stakeholders, and has put forward their proposal as below. Grattan has recommended that the government continues with the current points test system for FY2024-25 and the government should announce that the new points test and new IT system will be used from 1 July 2026.
